Who can forget the amazing Lord of the Rings books written
by J.R.R. Tolkien? Not only the books but the movies based on these books also
gained much fame and won a great number of Oscars. Such is the work of J.R.R
Tolkien that keeps us spellbound even in The Hobbit which
is considered to be one of the best works of Professor Tolkien. It was first
published by George Allen and Unwin in 1937 and has been translated into more
than 50 different languages and sold over 100 million copies which shows the
popularity and fandom of the book and the author himself.
Hobbit - a not too dark book...
THE BOOK |
The Hobbit is much lighter than the Lord of the Rings and
provides great delight to the readers containing all the elements that are
essential for a good and entertaining storyline. It has adventure, humor, songs
and heroism that the readers can enjoy along with the characters of Bilbo,
Gollum and the great Gandalf. The home of the hobbits “The Shire” is described
in a way that will keep the readers in awe of its beauty. The story starts as
Bilbo leaves the Shire in search of peace and comfort and encounters creatures
like Elves, Dwarves, Eagles, Goblins and even Wizards while passing Rivendell,
Mirkwood and The Misty Mountains and moves on to the Lonely Mountain in order
to get the treasure that was stolen by Smaug, the great dragon.
Even J.K. Rowling love Hobit !
THE MASTER |
The best thing about this book is that everyone can relate
to it whether a child or an adult, it stirs up the internal desire of having an
adventure and to discover something new by setting out on a journey into the
unknown world which is a fantasy and dream of many. Even authors like J.K.
Rowling and David Gemmell find this book an inspiration over their own work
which clearly states how brilliant this book really is.
Overall it can simply be said that this book is exciting and
adventurous and if you want something more than you can get your hands on the
illustrated version as well which contains amazing artwork by Alan Lee and
makes it even more entertaining and a real delight while reading.
